The Route by Bicycle

The Cammino del Vino e della Pietra was created primarily as a hiking route to be explored on foot, at a slow pace and with respect for the surrounding area. A dedicated cycling route is also available for anyone wishing to discover Valpolicella and Lessinia by bicycle. This route avoids sections of the walking trail that are not rideable or are unsuitable for bicycles.
The entire cycling route has been checked directly using mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes.
The cycling route is provided as a single GPX track. There is no official division into stages: cyclists may plan their journey freely, taking into account their fitness level, the time available, the type of bicycle used and the places chosen for rest stops or overnight stays.
The route passes through vineyards, villages, stone hamlets, woodlands and pastures, linking Valpolicella with the mountain landscapes of Lessinia. It includes significant elevation changes and different types of terrain, and therefore requires suitable preparation and an appropriate bicycle.
Before setting off, we recommend downloading the GPX track, checking the weather conditions and carefully planning rest stops, supplies and overnight accommodation. Each cyclist travels at their own risk and must respect the environment, the people they encounter and road traffic regulations.

Route characteristics
The route follows minor roads, unpaved roads, forest tracks and rideable trails, with varying surfaces and gradients. Some sections may be challenging due to steep climbs, technical descents or uneven terrain.
Rideability may vary depending on the season, weather conditions and the state of the surface. After heavy rain, some unpaved sections may become muddy, slippery or difficult to ride.
Planning your journey
The cycling route is presented as a single itinerary and is not divided into official stages. Cyclists may plan it independently according to their abilities, the time available and the places chosen for rest stops or overnight stays.
Before setting off, we recommend checking the availability of accommodation, whether bicycles can be stored securely or recharged, and the availability of refreshment facilities and drinking-water points.
Waymarking and navigation
The cycling route does not have dedicated waymarking. In some sections it follows the walking route, where its waymarks may therefore be encountered, while elsewhere it follows dedicated alternative sections.
It is therefore essential to download the GPX track before setting off and to use a suitable navigation device or app.
