Base Camp Option
Shape the Cammino the way you want: with the Base Camp Option you choose the stages, their order, and your pace (they don’t have to be consecutive). Set out each morning from the Cammino Hostel in San Pietro in Cariano (headquarters hosted by Cooperativa Hermete) and return in the late afternoon. Thanks to the fixed base and transfers, you hike with a light, essential pack—no daily room changes.
How it works
Your base is the Cammino Hostel: luggage stays safe in a locked room. Breakfast is self-prepared in the kitchen in the morning; you bring your own food (supermarket and food shops 100–200 m away). In the evening you can request use of the kitchen or eat out: the village has excellent restaurants, pizzerias and trattorias.
The group chooses the stages, even non-consecutive, across Valpolicella and Lessinia. Transfers are included: in the morning a minibus takes you to the stage start; in the afternoon it picks you up at the finish and brings you back to the hostel. Pick-up/drop-off times and locations are agreed at booking based on the stages you select. Licensed guide on request. This is not a guided trip by default: maximum group autonomy, with logistics guaranteed.

The Hostel
The Cammino Hostel, managed by Cooperativa Hermete, offers 4 simple, well-kept rooms. Each room has one bunk bed for 2 comfortable, functional places. Bathrooms are shared—a straightforward choice that encourages group spirit and practicality.
Total capacity is 8 beds, ideal for small groups who want to share the experience without giving up their autonomy.
Stays are confirmed once at least 5 participants have registered (max 8). This minimum threshold lets us organise departures and returns efficiently.
The rooms are inside the Cammino headquarters, hosted by Cooperativa Hermete in San Pietro in Cariano, right in the town centre: this is your base, the fixed point you set out from each morning and return to each evening.

Who it’s for
It’s ideal for groups who want a single base and clear, simple logistics;
for hikers who prefer a light daypack and the comfort of returning to base each evening;
for those who want to pick specific stages without changing accommodation every night;
for budget-minded travellers who like to cook dinner themselves (bring your own food—when you feel like going out, the village has restaurants, pizzerias and trattorie).
